Privacy policy

Last updated: November 2026

At Strikely (strikely.net), we respect the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy explains what kind of information we collect when you use our bowling statistics website and how we protect it, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data we collect

  • Data you provide voluntarily: when you create an account (as a player, coach, organizer or administrator), we collect the details you fill in: first and last name, nickname (username), email address, date of birth, gender, country and county, playing category and, optionally, city, home bowling center and profile description. Date of birth and gender are used to calculate competition handicaps; country and county are used for the local, national and world leaderboards.
  • Sports activity data: the scores you enter, your game sessions (oil pattern, ball used, bowling center), photos of the score screen uploaded for automatic score reading, your ball arsenal and maintenance, your goals, your results in leagues and competitions, and the badges you earn.
  • Coaches, organizers and clubs: for coaches, the displayed rate and profile details; for organizers, the competitions they create (rules, oil pattern, prizes); for registered clubs, the club logo and the registration document submitted for approval, plus the posts in the club feed.
  • Data collected automatically (log files & cookies): like most websites, we automatically collect anonymous technical information sent by your browser. This includes your IP address (anonymised), browser type, the pages you visit on our site, the date and time of access and the referring site.

2. How we use your data

We use the information collected exclusively to:

  • maintain, optimise and improve the features of the statistics platform;
  • calculate statistics, averages, handicaps and leaderboards, and run leagues and competitions;
  • send you account-related emails (e.g. password reset, invitations, competition results) and in-app notifications;
  • generate anonymous traffic statistics (e.g. via Google Analytics);
  • let you create and personalise your player profile, where applicable;
  • protect the site against cyber attacks or abusive data extraction.

3. Cookies

Strikely uses essential cookies to make sure the site works properly and analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with our platform. You can set your browser to refuse all cookies, but this may affect how some parts of the site work.

4. Sharing data with third parties

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to third parties. We may pass anonymous technical data (such as processed IP addresses) to service providers that help us run the site, such as web hosting or security platforms (e.g. Cloudflare), which comply with GDPR standards.
